The Stupidity of Nigerian Archetypal Christian

(By Temidayo Ahanmisi) Dear Future,

My mother is 83. She prefers to still go out to run her SME trade, even though we'd rather she stayed home.

Sometimes she'd walk a distance at least to stretch her legs and keep her heart invigorated and healthy.

My mother is strong, physically and mentally. She is much loved by her 11 children; by her neighbours and extended family. She enjoys immense respect too in our neighbourhood.

We would rather she be cooped up at home or only go out within the tight confines of a chauffeured car because she has committed the grievous crime of growing old as a human naturally should in the most abominably deplorable society on earth today.

All it takes is for an elderly person in Nigeria to get tired while taking a walk on any Nigerian street, and a walking human excrement, born of parents who could only have been bastards too would decide that s/he should die because seeing as his parents could only have originated from a vomitory, he could never have known that an old person is actually a person indeed.

These Nigerians walking the streets; trolling the cyber universe. A few of them could be reading this right now.

These products of coitus between twin faecal mounds have obviously never seen elderly persons in their lifetime while growing up to become these despicable units of trash prowling our earth.

The Nigerian church, under the governance of owner vermin called Pastors, men/women of God, G.Os and what not has taught these victims of her criminal stupidity that old people walking on the streets should be put to death for the crime of ' trekking while female and aged'.

Dear Sane Person,

If you have any elderly person in their 60s and beyond who you love, endeavour to tie them to a sturdy chair at home incase they are audacious enough to imagine they should take a walk on Nigerian streets.

There are sincerely stupid people, mostly Christians waiting on the streets to accuse them of witchcraft and set them ablaze or beat them to death.

These people look like they too are sane. Most of them went to school and speak impeccably top, but their sick minds are firmly in the grip of charlatans called Pastors, and a film industry called Nollywood is the only guiding culture they have ever been exposed to.

The cruelty of these human beasts is beyond horrific. They have no roots, no home training and no future. They are mostly Christians, but totally devoid of conscience and even a modicum of sense.

Some of them are your friends on Facebook. They upload "church tingz" photos on Sundays and appear as if they might be decent persons. This until you see them on TB Joshua and Adeboye "type amen" pages, claiming 1,000 "Amens" to cure cancer or "secure their "destiny" from the grip of an old person in their village".

The stupidity of the archetypal Nigerian Christian today, especially if they are of the Pentecostal hue is off any known charts of estimating mental retardation.

I am sorry, child of the Future for being so severe and unyielding in my judgement of my fellow humans, but you need like me to be that human who has the dubious privilege of having a relative who had the luck of growing old in Nigeria as I know it today. You'd understand then when you have to peer into the wreckage these sons of a cruel, ageist God reduced our society to with their superstition and soulless schizophrenic credulity; with their zany beliefs in phantoms and madness.

Dear Future,

It is 2017.

My beloved mother has grown old.

I am afraid simply because my mother is now an old woman in Nigeria.

I am afraid she might want to take a walk tomorrow to stretch her legs.
